The Vet

Hey everyone.  Wyatt here!   Today my foster mom took me to the vet.   I really loved the car ride there, and when we got there, I was so excited.  There were other dogs, and those things my mom calls cats.  I like cats, but I am not sure they all like me.   We had to wait for a few minutes, and then they made me sit on this thing my mom called a scale.  She said I weigh 77 pounds.   Then we went into a small room, and I got to eat lots of treats, and get pet by the people that came in to check on me.   They took my blood (I didn't like that!) but they said I am heart worm negative!   That's awesome, because heart worm can be very dangerous for dogs.   My foster mom was excited to hear that, and she said that it's important that I take get a special treat once a month, in order to keep me heart worm free!

Here's a picture of me with the vet!   I really like her.   She checked my teeth, and said that I don't look like I am done growing!   She said I am only about a year old!    She was very nice, and said that I looked healthy!   I got some other shots, and next time I go to the vet, I am going to get to stay there for the day.  My foster mom says I am going to have surgery, and get neutered.  I don't really know what that means, but my mom says that it's good for me.

My foster mom said that now that we know that I am healthy, I can start going to Pet Parade!   I am so excited to meet some other dogs that are being fostered.   Pet Parade is this thing that a lot of foster dogs go to, and it's a good place for humans to go if they are looking for a dog!   I will post more information about when it is when I am going to be there!

Here's another picture of me at the vet!   I know, I know, I'm pretty cute.  My foster mom tells me that all the time.   She says that I am always happy, and that I am learning to sit and stay.   I know how to sit and stay, but I usually only do it if there is a treat involved.  I really like dog treats, and my foster mom and dad always give me these things called freezer cookies.  I am pretty sure they're just ice cubes, but they taste good on a hot day, so I'm not complaining!

I will work on updating more often, but I am very busy doing dog stuff like running around the house, driving my foster mom crazy, and chasing the kitty.

Love Always,
Wyatt

Dog Days of Summer

It's been really hot around here, and my foster parents took me swimming yesterday!   Turns out, I like to swim. My new sisters, and their cousin Lilly all went with me.   It was a lot of fun!     Here's a picture of us all hanging out!   I'm the one looking at the camera.   The other dog that's the same color as I am is Lola, she's my sister.   She's kind of bossy, but I like her.   Frankie is my other sister.  She never wants to play with me, but she's okay.   The dark brown dog is Lilly, and she is a good swimmer!  She can swim forever!

I am having a lot of fun at my foster home, but my mom says that on Sunday, we're going to meet a bunch of other foster dogs, and people who might want to adopt me!    I like my foster family, but I really want my own house.    It'd be okay to have other dogs, and maybe even one of those cat things.

My mom says I'm a really great dog, but that I sometimes slobber too much.   She said I'd be great for a family with someone that likes to work outside, because my favorite thing to do is follow my foster dad around the yard.    Alright, time to go for a w-a-l-k!   My foster mom thinks I can't spell, geez!

See ya later!

Hey there guys.   Choc Lab #160 here.   I am at a new home, which is much better than the cage I was in earlier this week.   These people are calling me Wyatt, which I am getting used to.   I guess I do look like a Wyatt?    These people I'm talking about are calling themselves my "foster parents".   I'm going to live with them for awhile, and they're going to help me gain some weight, and then find a home with my new family that'll love me forever!\

My foster home has a big backyard, and it's got a fence around the entire thing!  It's pretty awesome.  My new foster mom says I drool a lot, and they keep saying they can't figure out what I am mixed with.   They've decided I'm a GBD, which stands for generic brown dog.   Being in this foster home means I'm living with two other dogs, they are pretty nice.   I also have one brother, he's what my foster parents call a cat.  I'm very curious about what a cat is, and he isn't too sure of me.   I would never hurt him, but I want to play with him, and he hisses at me.   I hope he comes around soon, because he looks like fun.

I've spent most of my weekend relaxing outside during the day.  My foster mom sprayed me with the hose today, and that was fun.   They also made me go in this room with a weird chair, and I had to get in this big white thing, and they put soapy water all over me.   My foster mom says I don't smell funny now, but I was not crazy about this thing she called a "bath".

Here's another picture of me hanging out in the backyard with my foster dad.   I really like to follow him around while he works on the yard.   I'm really happy here in my foster home, and I am looking forward to finding a new family that will love me for the rest of my life!

See ya soon!
